On the logbook: I have noticed that some logbook entries correctly measure averages over the trip, whereas others seem to start at midnight which skews the entire stats - we tend to keep the Orca Core powered up all the time.
Correct entries (i.e. measured for the duration of the trip):
Incorrect (i.e. measured from midnight to midnight instead of the duration of the trip):
- STW
- Polar performance
- Wind
- Currents
- Batteries
Also, on the topic of batteries: Orca detects our 48V battery bank as “24V” - you should update your detection algorithm to use 48V for any voltage from 45 to 55V, maybe ?
Thanks for reporting – i will push this forward to product team. Re voltage: 48V is exotic, we didn’t expect that to happen this early.. I guess we should add algos for a few future ranges as well while we are at it
To add to this, we have two banks of 24v batteries, and two banks of 12v batteries. Reporting averages across them doesn’t give us anything useful. For example, if the 100ah 12v AGM starter battery is dying and at 11.9 volts, whilst the 500ah 12v lithium house bank is happy at 13.3v, then averaging the two values doesn’t help. Ditto the minimum voltage value - this would be very useful if reported per individual battery bank.
So I am hoping for a view per battery bank, and to be able to name each of them (as I do on the instruments).
Hello everyone. Thanks for reporting, I’m logging this internally. For further bugs and feature requests, please use the built-in chat or web chat, which will be the main support channel for the upcoming weeks. See
