Ability to install in to base Android

Hi, I have noticed that other Plotter Applications, like Navionics Boating, I-Boating and even SavvyNavvy will allow you to install their applications on base Android - i am talking about Waydroid here on a Linux machine with a massive monitor. But strangely Orca doesnt. I think this would be a useful addition as for me, the ability to plan a route at home on a 32 inch 4K monitor is really useful. Can someone respond as to why you havent done that yet? Thanks Mike

Hey,

thanks for the post. One question, one comment:

a) How do you attempt to install it? Is it via a side-loaded Google Play Store app?
b) Could you try the latest Orca App Version? We recently removed some restrictions that would prevent installing Orca on Chromebooks, and it could be that this fix also solves the Waydroid install restriction.

No, the only one i can install is an old Orca-1.0.15.apk. I tried to load Orca-2025.38.1.apk but it would not install.

actually correction, i have another machine running FYDEOS and it DID run on that machine, My main machine with the big screen is running FEDORA 43 and i had Waydroid on there. I did try to load APKPure but it says that the latest version is not compatible with my machine
