Instrument editing tweaks

A few little thoughts on the instrument panel:

  1. If you edit an instrument to change its name, save that. Then edit the same instrument and change its colour and save that… the originally edited name is lost and the default returns.
  2. If you edit a panel, then edit and save an instrument, you can’t edit a second instrument without first saving the panel and re-editing it. This is very frustrating when doing large-scale edits. It would be great to be able to edit lots of instruments one after another.
  3. In a full panel of instruments such as the one below, it is not possible to slide the instruments on the bottom row left or right. The other instruments in the row do not move to make a space. So to change their places, I have to slide all of them upwards to the third row, then slide left and right as needed, then slide them down again.

I have covered the topic of instrument libraries before, just a quick shout-out again… we have four Orca devices regularly in operation (D2, iPad, 2xiPhone) and all of them run a handful of panels. So any edit becomes a Long Job. A library would be a wonderful improvement.

Thanks for the detailed report Alastair, I’m logging this internally.
