For NMEA2000 values that change very rapidly, it would be great to have a couple of settings to smooth them - like moving averages over 5/10/30 seconds for instance.
B&G does have this concept on their displays and it works quite well, it makes it easier to track those values.
Yes badly needed - COG is totally useless when sailing in conditions with waves….
Yes the COG gets a bit wild in waves. Perhaps smoothing factor (in seconds) could be an extra parameter on the instrument config pane, where currently you can adjust name and colour.
Hello everyone. We already do some smoothing on top of certain values such as SOG/COG. However, we understand it may not be enough for some conditions, so I’m logging this internally.
