I’m not sure whether this forum is the place for this, but it’s Sunday and I that’s my prime day for having thoughts about Orca!
See the partial route below - you can see that the auto routing algorithm doesn’t want to stay in the small boat channel in Portland Harbour (a straight-ish line from S to 1 to 2).
Fair enough, auto routing has limitations. So I added a few more waypoints to try to help it.
But the auto routing is still fighting my waypoints, even though they are really close together (300-500 metres apart). I wondered whether the auto routing algorithm might look at the distance between waypoints, and if they are close to each other, it might just run the course in a straight line between them, assuming that’s what the user intended?
I would also be keen on adding an attribute to each waypoint, for the user to select whether the route immediately before it should be manual or auto calculated, and same for the route immediately after it.
